2 August;it should be getting warmer!

Had a look at the rest of Whangaparapara Harbour in the morning and tried some fishing above rocks.

Came close but not close enough. Sailed on the genoa at about 4 knots North through a passage with Rangiahua Island on our port side. About there a whale joined us and kept us company for nearly an hour. Maybe about 8 to 10 feet long.

We headed for Port Fitzroy through the narrow passage to the South of Kaikoura Island. Passed the New Zealand navy at rest; they probably had heard of the open air bath on Smokehouse Bay which we may visit on our way out of the harbour.

Port Fitzroy is a lovely little harbour but not as interesting people wise as Tryphena. The ferry was in and people were busy. The woman in the local shop was grumpy and so with fresh supplies we headed back to Anyway. No pub here!  So played mandolin, drunk wine and communicated via  computer. I thought Apple might like to pay us for his advertising.
